Another Birthday Ambush!

Yes we did it again. Kathy Rogers-Comeau turned 50 years young March 20Th, 2008.

Family and friends traveled distance and time, From the west, north and south and from decades past to the current. All came to show their love and support.

Kathy was clueless which is a sure sign she is slipping in her old age because normally she's a tough one to trick. After all she has 3 teenage boys which keep her on her toes. None the less...AMBUSH successful.

We had a beautiful banquet room on the Virginia Beach Oceanfront hosted by the world renowned Rockafellers restaurant. The fresh ocean breeze and scenic view was exceeded only by the spectacular dinner entrees, deserts and of course a wonderful home baked cake. The weather was perfect and spirits where high. We had a nice slide show honoring 5 decades of Kathy's life thus far. There where many gifts, lots of hugs, tears and cheers. It couldn't have been better.

Andrew Rogers - Baptism June 18, 2006

Jesus said "Very truly, I say to you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit" (Jn.:5)

On this day Andrew Rogers received the Sacrament of Baptism, which is the Sacrament of spiritual rebirth. Andrew is now cleansed of all his sins and incorporated into Christ with Jesus in his heart. His soul is new! He is now a new being. A holy, pure, immaculate "child of God", a brother of Jesus.

Andrew, as your body, heart and mind remain the same, we pray that your newly blessed spirit now follows the will of God and that the goodness of Jesus is your guiding light, your being and your legacy.

Congratulations Andrew!

A day in the life of a Humboldt tree hugger

Carol who is a devoted a tree hugger , purchased a piece of land in Humboldt county California with her partner Darryl . One day Carol & Darryl wanted to see just how big their tract of land was. So, being the solution oriented person she is, Carol came up with this idea.

She found the tallest tree on the property and decided to climb to the top so she could survey all the land. So she started to climb the big tree. As she neared the top, she encountered a spotted owl that became spooked and attacked her. In her haste to escape, she slid down the tree to the ground very fast and got many splinters in her, eh'hem... private parts. In considerable pain, she hurried to the Garberville clinic to see the doctor. Being a tree hugger himself, the doctor listened to Carols' story with great patience and then told her to go into the examining room and he would see if he could help her. Now, no one is in a hurry in Humboldt country because they are all laid back on "Humboldt time". However, Carol sat and waited for three hours before the doctor reappeared. At this point she was very frustrated and demanded, What took you so long? He apologized for taking so long and then told her, "I had to get permits from the Environmental Protection Agency, the Forest Service, and the Bureau of Land Management before I could remove old-growth timber from a recreational area!!! "
